Founder & Lead Journalist

Charnell Gilchrist
Charnell is the captain of our ship, bringing over 10 years of experience in storytelling to ensure that everything we publish is of the highest quality. She has an in-depth knowledge of San Diego and Orange County. Charnell founded DOPE Quick Reads out of her passion for writing and a desire to make useful information both accessible and understandable for the average reader. As a member of the National Writers Union (NWU) with official press credentials, she upholds the highest standards of journalistic integrity and professional reporting. When she isn’t working on DOPE Quick Reads, she enjoys learning new words, riding her mountain bike, and learning new yoga poses.

Senior Journalist & Chief Editor

Kam Littles

Web Developer & UX Designer

Eric Jones
Eric wears two hats. He makes sure our website works well and looks good. He fixes any bugs and improves how easy it is to use the site. When he’s not solving problems—sometimes caused by Charnell (just kidding, but maybe not!)—he enjoys finding new music, trying new recipes, and spending time with his daughter.
_____
The Megaphone
Digital Marketing Specialist

Natice Barginere
Think of Natice as our town crier but for the internet age. She makes sure our stories reach as many people as possible. She’s a whiz with social media and knows how to get our articles to show up in your search results. Natice enjoys trying new activities and exploring local events. She looks forward to spending more time traveling and experiencing new cultures.
_____
The Fine-Tooth Comb
Co-Founder & Content Editor

Ashanti Gilchrist
Ashanti is our eagle eye. She catches typos, fact-checks our articles, and makes sure everything we publish is clear and easy to read. She’s the guardian of our high standards. Outside of her eagle eye duties for DOPE Quick Reads, her favorite pastimes include attending festivals, learning new languages, gaming, and discovering new anime.
