After a bullet flew within inches of his head

It is believed that a recent video shows a Ukrainian Marine in the besieged city of Bakhmut, eastern Ukraine. The video appears to show the marine coming dangerously close to death. A Russian bullet barely misses him, coming within a hair’s breadth of hitting him in the head.

The footage shows the soldier aiming out of the window. He is aiming at enemy positions down the street. The bullet impacts the wall behind him.

This causes a cloud of dust to surrounding his head momentarily. After realizing the near-miss, the marine ducks for cover. The 35th Separate Marine Infantry Brigade posted the video dedicated to Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi.

The video showed the marine miraculously dodging a bullet while fighting against a foe. A Ukrainian defender was shooting at the adversary, to which this Marine retaliated. The camera captured when the bullet flew past his helmet. We hope that luck will remain with our brothers, shielding them from enemy fire.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence posted on Twitter, calling it “Divine intervention.” This reportedly happened in the eastern city of Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, which has been the site of urban warfare for around ten months.

According to Russian forces, they have taken control of 80% of the city surrounding the Ukrainian troops in the central-western part. Geolocated footage and Russian mil blogger reports indicate that Putin’s forces control the area from the northeast to the southwest. The Institute for the Study of War said on April 11 that at least 76.5% of Bakhmut has been confirmed to be under Russian occupation.

A Telegram channel associated with the Wagner Group, which is responsible for the attempted takeover of Bakhmut, posted a picture of two of its members standing outside the city’s state administrative building.

The exact date of the photo could not be confirmed, however. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the mercenary group’s leader, declared that his forces had “lawfully” taken over Bakhmut when a picture surfaced with a Russian flag in front of the building. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that the conflicts were not over and that Russian forces had attempted, but failed, to launch an offensive near Khromove, which is only two miles from Bakhmut.

On Wednesday, Colonel Serhiy Cherevaty of the Ukrainian Eastern Group of Forces said that forces from the Wagner Group were attacking the eastern city in small groups, backed up by regular Russian forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Wagner forces had overtaken three areas in Bakhmut, with Russian airborne troops restraining Ukrainian troops on the sides. Additionally, well-known Russian military bloggers reported that fighting had occurred throughout Wednesday in the city’s northern, central, and southwestern parts.
